DESCRIPTION
This training program is focused on the use of ATEM in Live Streaming Video Production.
TARGET AUDIENCE
After this training, the participant will be able to:
- ATEM users that are using ATEM for Live Streaming purposes.
- ATEM users that are using BMD Cameras with their switcher and requires a quick start on their system.
COURSE OUTLINE
PHYSICAL IO PORTS
This section will discuss every ports available in the ATEM switcher. From inputs to outputs and to all the control ports of the item.
ATEM UTILITY SOFTWARE
In this part of the session, we will show how to properly update the firmware of your ATEM and how to install the needed software to your computer system – ATEM Software Control and ATEM Utility.
CONNECTION OF SOURCES / DESTINATIONS
This section covers the connection of different items in the Live Production like cameras, recorders, streaming appliance, etc. It is a bonus if you are using other Blackmagic Design items in your workflow as we will show you the ecosystem and how you can make the most of it.
BMD CAMERA UTILITY
This is an extra session to be conducted if you are using Blackmagic Design cameras in your workflow. It is essential to make sure that these items are connected properly as it will provide extra functionalities like Tally, Intercom and Camera Control – CCU-like operation.
ATEM SESSION CONFIGURATION
This session aims to provide the participants the confidence to start the session from scratch. Setting up the parameters properly like video formats, IP address, etc, are important for a hassle-free operations.
PGM/PVW SWITCHING
This part discusses the main function of a switcher – to switch. Different switching techniques will be discussed here, like hot-punching, use of transition effects, etc. This session covers both the software and hardware panel operations.
MEDIA PAGE
Graphics that will be used for ATEM can be configured from the ATEM Media Pool. This section discusses how to import Stills, Image Sequence and connection to a Photoshop system too!
KEYERS – UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM
Keyer function is what separates an M/E Switcher to a much simpler A/B switch. This section covers the keying layers that an operator needs to understand to work with ATEM. Topics include Lower Thirds, Logo placement, Picture in Picture setup, Chroma Keying, and more!
AUDIO PAGE
ATEM supports both embedded audio and external audio inputs. This section shows how to control these audio inputs using the dedicated audio page of ATEM Software control.
CAMERA PAGE
This section will only be discussed if you are using Blackmagic Design cameras such as Pocket Cameras, Studio Cameras, URSA Mini or URSA Broadcast. This section shows how to control the video parameters such as color, exposure, White Balance, etc.
OUTPUT CONFIGURATION
In this part of the session, we will discuss how to configure outputs such as PGM, PVW, Multiview and Aux Outputs.
LIVE STREAMING SETUP
This section is very helpful if you will be using a Blackmagic Design Web Presenter in the workflow. All configurations and settings necessary for a Live Streaming application will be discussed here.
