MCX/Community

A home for theregion's makers.

MCX is where musicians, artists, editors and colourists gather — not to be sold to, but to create, learn and belong. The tools are world-class. The reason to come back is the people.

The idea

A facility gets visited once.A community gets visited weekly.

MCX is building the physical clubhouse for the region's creative-media scene — colour nights, producer meetups, editor roundtables and artist showcases, all under one roof.

Made something here? Show it.

The community showcase puts members' work on the site — the tracks, grades, cuts and shoots made in the space. Being featured is a reason to create; creating fills the calendar; the calendar builds the scene. A loop that feeds itself.

Join the community, come to a session, and put your work on the wall.

How to turn up

You do not need a reason.Or a company behind you.

The most common message we get starts with an apology — for being a student, for being freelance, for not being ready to buy anything. None of that matters. The room costs nothing to walk into.

Come to a night

Pick anything on the calendar that sounds close to what you do. Registration is a WhatsApp message and you will get a person, not an auto-reply. Turning up alone is normal; most people do the first time.

Come with a problem

A grade that will not sit right, a mix that falls apart in the car, a signal chain you cannot keep stable. Bring it. An afternoon on the equipment with someone who works in your discipline beats a month of forum threads.

Come to use the room

Students and freelancers book time here to finish work, not only to look at equipment. If the zone is free and you need it, ask — that is what it is for.

Bring your people

If you already run a group, we will host it. Editors, colourists, producers, broadcast engineers, musicians. You keep the format; we configure the room and stay out of the way.

Come and see it

Reading about it settles nothing.

Tell us what you are deciding and the room is configured before you arrive.

What it is not

Nobody is going to sell you anything. That is the whole arrangement.

MediaCast distributes the equipment in these rooms, so the obvious suspicion is a fair one: that a community night is a sales pitch with snacks. It is not, and the reason is practical rather than noble. People who spend an evening being sold to do not come back, and a room nobody returns to is worth nothing to a distributor. So the specialists here answer the question you asked — including when the honest answer is that you do not need the more expensive thing, or that the kit you already own is fine. The region gets somewhere to test claims against equipment instead of against marketing. We get a room full of people who will pick up the phone in two years, when it does matter.
